From Decaturdaily.com Jumpy thriller deceives (sarah michelle gellar mention)Tuesday 5 April 2005, by Webmaster "The Grudge," an American remake of director Takashi Shimizu’s popular Japanese movie franchise, puts "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" star Sarah Michelle Gellar back into the line of the mysterious and just plain freaky. When Karen (Gellar), an American student interning at a Japanese health center, comes across a mysterious curse, she finds herself fighting for her sanity and her survival. Movie Reviews If you like movies that have giant creatures and make you jump, you’ll like "Anacondas: The Hunt for the Blood Orchid" on DVD. The movie used computerized effects, but they looked realistic (though I doubt any movie about an oversized anaconda is that realistic). The plot revolves around the search for the orchid of immortality, a rare flower that holds the secret to eternal life. It means fortune for the explorers who find it. The only problem? It’s on an island teeming with man-eating snakes, clever headhunters and a nest of giant anacondas. The movie overflows with twists and bits of deception. It has a great plot that moves fast for such a suspenseful movie. Though it wasn’t the best film I’ve ever seen, for a sequel, it was better than the original. |
