NEW YORK, NY (AHN) - The network has asked the Fever Pitch star to take on hosting duties at this year’s movie awards. It will be the second time Fallon will host the movie awards, his first run was in 2001.

The two movies leading the pack at the 2005 Awards are Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, starring Will Ferrell; and Mean Girls, starring Lindsay Lohan. Each has grabbed four nominations, including a best female performance nod for Lohan.

The movie awards will debut two new categories this year: Best Frightened Performance, including Sarah Michelle Gellar’s performance in The Grudge and Cary Elwes’s disturbing portrayal in Saw.

The Best Videogame Based on a Movie nominations have gone to Spiderman 2 and The Incredibles, both of which are also nominated for best movie.

The awards will tape on June 4 and air June 9 on MTV.

Falson also hosted the Video Music Awards in 2002.
