Williams will play the pushy preacher in the romancer License to Wed She’ll soon be seen living up her American Dreamz, while he’ll next be seen loading up the R.V. Soon, however, they’ll be coming together for Warner Bros.’ License to Wed. Daily Variety reports that Mandy Moore and Robin Williams are in final talks to star in the romantic comedy for helmer Ken Kwapis with shooting scheduled to begin in L.A. and Mexico starting this May. John Krasinski has also started negotiations to star in the project, which centers on a young couple who are preparing to walk down the aisle together. Their plans are sidelined, however, when the meddling minister of the girl’s family church insists that the couple undergo a two-week pre-marriage course. In order to get married in his church, they must pass the test, but when the groom fails he must fight to win back his true love. Kim Barker wrote the original draft of the script with a re-write done by Dan Fogelman and Roger Kumble. Warner Bros. is co-financing the project with long-time partner Village Roadshow. Phoenix Pictures’ Mike Medavoy and Arnold Messer will produce with Robert Simonds and Nick Osborne. Tervor Engelson is a co-producer. In addition to R.V., Williams will soon be seen in 20th Century Fox’s Night at the Museum and in Barry Levinson’s Man of the Year. Moore has the highly-anticipated Southland Tales in the pipeline and is now working on Dedication for actor-helmer Justin Theroux. Williams is repped by CAA, while Moore is repped by WMA. |
