The former "Beverly Hills, 90210" star will play a hot single mom who likes to stir up trouble in the beachside community of the title, according to The Hollywood Reporter. She joins "Melrose Place" alumnus Grant Show as recent additions to the cast of the soap opera with an otherworldly twist. "Point Pleasant" centers on a young woman (Elisabeth Harnois) who comes to the town under mysterious circumstances. Show, who wasn’t part of the original pilot, plays a character whose presence is unsettling to other residents and who may have a connection to the woman who’s just washed up onshore. FOX initially passed on the show in the spring but decided to pick it up in September after seeing a second-episode script from Marti Noxon ("Buffy the Vampire Slayer"). Noxon and John McLaughlin, who wrote the pilot, are serving as executive producers. Meyer played a wheelchair-bound Barbara Gordon, the onetime Batgirl, on "Birds of Prey," which ran on The WB in 2002. She had a recurring role on NBC’s "Miss Match" last season. Her other credits include "Starship Troopers" and the current release "Saw." |
