Michael Jackson murders Buffy

One question ... shouldn’t Buffy be slaying people like him?

Joss Whedon might consider having his star on "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" get a billion facelifts, open an amusement park freak show and sing songs that no one wants to listen to.

"Buffy the Vampire Slayer" was one of the Tuesday night casualities of the "Michael Jackson: 30th Anniversary Celebration" on CBS that garnered a huge 16.5 rating/24 share for the largest Viacom network, leading it to an easy win over all competition.

"Buffy" scored a 4.3/6, giving the second-lowest performance of the night. The only program that did worst was the show it leads into, "Roswell," which could only keep 61 percent of "Buffy’s" audience, finishing with a 2.6/4.

"Gilmore Girls" and "Smallville" still lead Nielsen Overnight Metered Market Ratings, both pulling in 5.1/8 and 5.1/7 respectively, giving The WB an easy win over UPN for the night, 5.1/7 to 3.5/5.

CBS lead Tuesday night with a 14.7/21 followed by NBC (10.1/15), ABC (7.7/11) and Fox (6.2/9).
