But just beneath the surface charm, something unnamed and evil has arrived... and is growing. No one seems to notice as telephone poles become clogged with missing pet flyers, or when one of the town’s richest citizens, Grant Grant, begins to act strangely. But when farmers’ livestock turn up horribly mutilated and a young woman dissappears, Sheriff Bill Pardy and his team, aided by Grant’s wife Starla, uncover the dark force laing siege to their town... and come face-to-face with an older than time organism intent on absorbing and devouring all life on Earth. Oh yeah, and it looks a lot like a red slug. Look for a mass Browncoat suicide after the debut of Slither. The movie looks fun, and it’s almost guaranteed to make more money than their pet movie ’Serenity’. Why does that matter? Because Slither stars Serenity and "Firefly’s" Nathan Fillian, and the weird irony is that it may be this, not Whedon’s flick that makes him a star. Slither is silly, weird and wacky. It also looks like a lot of fun. The trailer is reminiscent of the ads we saw for the movie Eight Legged Freaks back in 2002. What makes this one look like it might actually deliver is the cast, which does not include David Arquette. That’s a good thing. Seriously though, Nathan Fillion is a genuine talent. The guy deserves some attention and if this gets it for him when his fantastic performance in Serenity didn’t, so be it. Slither looks silly, stupid, and flat out fun. Keywords |
