Marvelousnews.com The AvengersNathan Fillion - "The Avengers" Movie - He may play Hank PymSaturday 15 May 2010, by Webmaster Kevin Pennington Is Not Hank Pym Or Hawkeye For Marvel Movies If you have been following our posts over the last week or so about actor Kevin Pennington being cast for a role in an upcoming Marvel Comics based movie, then you know the young actor from shows like 90210 has apparently landed his first movie role that puts him smack dab in the middle of the Marvel Universe. Though it is still unknown what character he will play, we have been given a number of clues by Pennington on his Twitter page, and from a unconfirmed "Inside Source." Here is what we know, or think we know so far. Our "Inside Source" told us the following; He is signed with Marvel Studios, NOT Fox, Sony or any other film studio. He will not appear as the new Spider-Man or as a member of X-Men First Class. Plans are for his character to be in Avengers films and other team-related films. He will be a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent, but also a fan favorite character from the comics (characters origin may be changed to fit in the movie, and may never have been in S.H.I.E.L.D. or Avengers in the comics) Kevin had posted on his Twitter page that, "It’s a three picture deal so hopefully that guarantees i’ll be in more than one movie in my lifetime... haha :)." However we noticed today that post seems to have disappeared, but Kevin did post a new clue for his movie role as follows; "big movie deal does not involve a mask covering my face... take that as you will. gnight :-)" Kevin also indicated on his Twitter page that he would be attending the San Diego Comic Con this year and has booked an editorial with GQ. For additional clues, our "Insider Source" has provided some new details as well; "Kevin Pennington is NOT Hawkeye." "Nathan Fillion is pretty much locked to be Henry Pym, and should be announced before any other new additions to the cast (think around Comic Con)" So if all is to be believed, this would rule out Kevin for the roles of either Hank Pym or Hawkeye, and yet it is supposed to be a "fan-favorite" who may or may not have been a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent or even an Avenger in the comics, but will be for the purposes of the movies. That pretty much leaves us here at ENI stumped as to who he could be playing, but we would certainly love to hear your ideas on who you think it might be, in our comments section below. As we continue to learn more details or clues, we will be sure to pass them on to you. |
