I’ve just seen WNtL.. did I enjoy it.. you bet.. In this film Nathan Fillion plays a husband and father.. whose family tragically die. He tries to carry on but when their funeral is over he tries to commit suicide.. he comes back from the dead complete with a talent for seeing a white light which he soons discovers means he can tell when people are going to die. What he does with this “talent” starts a sequence of events that have far reaching effects. With plot twists and plenty of” oh so thats why that happened “moments this is a film worth seeing. Nathan Fillion has got to be one of the best actors these days.. there is nothing he cannot do, no emotion he can’t convey. Nathan’s talent for portraying the everyman.. the ordinary guy trying to cope with life is so convincing here that when a reference to Firefly is made it shocks you back into remembering that this is the guy who played Captain Reynolds, he really has become Abe. The chemistry between Nathan and Katee Sackoff is a pleasure to see, even though they don’t share a great deal of screentime there are a couple of moments that hug the heartstrings as they are played in a beautifully understated way. Craig Fairbrass is a revelation too playing his part with great conviction. All in all a very worthwhile and enjoyable film and for any Fillion fans a sure fire must see ... the guy has screen presence by the truck load. |
