"White Noise 2" Making Waves As Sci-Fi Favs Join Cast

Red Orbit is reporting the Reuters news that sci-fi favorite Nathan Fillion - captain of Joss Whedon’s cult sci-fi series "Firefly" and subsequent movie "Serenity" - is set to star in "White Noise 2." A possible double treat to sci-fi fans - "Battlestar Galactica" star Katee Sackhoff, who plays "Starbuck" - is in negotiations to join him!

Released last year, the original "White Noise" (which grossed over $57 million) starred Michael Keaton as a man who becomes obsessed with speaking with his recently deceased wife from beyond with grave via E.V.P. (Electronic Voice Phenomena) where, according to believers, amidst the white noise of a detuned radio or TV you can hear voices of the dead. As with any good horror movie, this obsession has ghastly repercussions.

In the sequel, a man’s family is murdered, but he is brought back from the brink of death. The man realizes he has changed and can now identify those among the living who are about to die. When he tries to save people from their fate, he discovers there is a price to paid for interfering with the natural order.

Fillion is playing the man (he’s always "The Man," isn’t he?) while Sackhoff will portray a nurse who befriends him after the death of his wife. Patrick Lussier ("Dracula 2000") is slated to direct.

Fillion next appears in the horror movie "Slither," which opens March 31. Sackhoff can be seen on "Battlestar Galactica," which airs weekly on the SciFi Channel 10pm ET/9pm CT. Check out TV Fodder’s Battlestar Fodder page for all your "Battlestar Galactica" news and episode reviews.
