New Buffy & Serenity Comics - Scott Allie talks (Dark Horse editor)

Wednesday 14 June 2006, by Webmaster

For celebrating the Jubilee you publish a Special Anniversary Issue with an Art by Joss Whedon. Will we see there beloved Characters of Buffy, Fray or Firefly ?

Fray will be in the book, and she’ll drawn by the artist from Emily the Strange.

This Summer should Buffy return with a 8th Season as Comic by Dark Horse. Joss Whedon should write the first 4 Issue arc. How far is it ?

Moving along. The first issue won’t be out until early next year.

Which Artist will pencil the Comic? Cliff Richards again ?

Georges Jeanty is the artist on the new series with Joss. He’s currently finishing a series for DC.

Were there talks to other staffwriters like Jane Espenson or David Fury for upfollowing Storylines ?

We’d love to work with them, but they’re busy elsewhere, and we’re talking to some other comic-book writers.

In the past Age of Buffy Comics popular Characters like OZ, Willow and Tara get their own One Shots and Miniseries. Can you imagine same in the new Age? Maybe Faith or Dawn ?

The plan is for their stories to be told in this main Buffy series.

„Those left behind“ was really succesfull. Once Joss and Brett Matthews workend on another Storyline. Is there still hope for Browncoats to return on Serenity ?

Absolutely. We just need to get into Buffy, and then we want to do another Serenity series with the same creative team.

Are there plans to publish this Issues in Germany. Maybe via PaniniComics ?

I’m not sure who holds the license in Germany, but I’m sure they’ll pick up the new series.

Dark Horse Entertainment did Movies like BarbWire, Hellboy, AVP...Some Fans like me hope for a Fray Movie. Had you anytime shared this idea or talked with Joss about it ?

We’d all love to see a Fray movie, but the situation would have to be just right, and of course we’d hope to see Joss write and direct.

Last Question, will Fray return in a Comicseries ?

Someday, I hope. Joss has a lot of other things to attend to first, though.
