New Tara figure to raise funds for Amber Benson film

Sunday 29 August 2004, by Webmaster

"Triangle" Tara: Amber Benson Exclusive!

This will be the figure of the year!

Only 2,000 of this figure, featuring Tara in her outfit from the "Triangle" episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, are being produced just for Amber Benson.

Ms. Benson is selling the figure to raise money to produce her second, as-yet-untitled, independent feature film, which is now in preproduction. Amber’s directorial debut, "Chance," premiered at Sidewalk Film Festival in Birmingham, AL, Ms. Benson’s hometown.

CineQuest.com is supporting the fund-raising by agreeing to handle credit card orders on Ms. Benson’s behalf.

This figure, produced by Diamond Select Toys, is limited to 2,000 total worldwide and will not be sold at retail stores or by Diamond Select. It can only be obtained through Benson Entertainment through this special offer.

"Triangle" Tara, a standard blister-carded 6" figure, is scheduled to be shipped to Ms. Benson in October (subject to change by the manufacturer). Each figure will be signed by Ms. Benson and she will personalize it by writing a short message that you request. (Note: Messages will be limited to five words and must be approved by Ms. Benson).

Once she receives the figures, it will take approximately two weeks for the signing and personalization and then your figure will be sent to you.

Note: Your credit card will be charged immediately for this figure in order to guarantee your item. There is a flat shipping fee of $6.95 per figure ordered by U.S. customers; the figure will be sent out U.S. priority mail and insured.

International customers will be charged standard USPS airmail shipping for the figure and can order by clicking here.

Once your order is placed, you will receive a confirmation invoice and then an email requesting how you would like the figure to be signed.

If you wish to pay by Pay Pal, money order or certified check, please visit www.amberbenson.us to order.

All funds received by CineQuest.com for this figure will go directly to Amber Benson to help finance her latest film endeavor. Please join us in supporting her efforts.

Oh my god... I love Tara, and Amber Benson, so much, and I’d love to support her film career, but $125 US? That sounds a little high for a figurine for me. *sigh*

I think you’re the only one that thinks that. How is that taking advantage of her fans? If they don’t want one or don’t have the money, they won’t get one. It seems like a fine fundraiser to me.

I’d totally buy one if I had the cash.

Actually, the ones of Tara sell out almost as soon as they’re avaliable. And what other ’beloved characters’ don’t have a figure? Even Adam has been a figure, and he’s far from what you would call ’beloved’.

Making a movie is ALWAYS a very expensive endeavor, hence it’s understandable and reasonable why this “action figure for a VERY good cause” is quite expensive.

Um, guy? Most of those people already have figures. Maybe not in the place where you’re looking, but I have the Mayor and Lorne sitting on my desk at home. I don’t know about Dracula, but was he ever beloved? Not sure...
