Getting into acting? i had the benefit of beginning my career in vancouver, canada. when i started i only worked drama. at the time vancouver was the "movie of the week" capital of the world - cheesy tele-drama’s cranked out with the efficiency of a tommy-gun. by seventeen, i realized i could only cry with Donna Mills so much. so, i got into improv comedy and ended up moving to LA. i was fortunate enough to have a resume under my belt which helped me secure an agent. ironically, the first role i was ever offered was BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER. i loved joss whedon and loved the role, but felt i’d be happier in front of a live audience. highschool was hell for me, and i’d be damned if i was going to go back, even if it was on t.v. this time. hence, i entered the sitcom world.

my non-existent point is simply this: if you’re interested in acting, the best advice i have for you is to get involved. get involved at any level. most major city’s have small film industries of their own - or at the very least, theater programs and acting workshops. the best way to become an actor is to act.
