Well, I’ve reached the exhibit hall at preview night at San Diego Comic-Con International — along with several thousand other people who were waiting for the doors to open at 6 p.m.

Tonight is preview night, a first chance to see items on for sale on the floor — and geek-world celebs such as Seth Green (of Austin Powers and Buffy the Vampire Slayer fame), slouching around in a fatigue jacket and baseball cap and here to promote his Freshman comic book.

Even though preview night is limited to the preregistered, participants and press, there are plenty of children here, some of whom posed with a tableaux of Darth Vader, Stormtroopers and Clone Troopers while waiting for the doors to open.

And when the security guards did let folks through, there was a rush to get inside. Folks were already lining up to get their limited Star Wars collectibles and freebies handed out at other booths. Everything seems to be moving as fast as hands can grab.
