BURBANK, CA (January 22, 2004) - Warner Home Video (WHV) is preparing to serve children and Scooby-Doo fans a hilarious helping of high-jinkies and adventures from the lovable dog and his friends Daphne, Fred, Shaggy and Velma with the new DVD and VHS title What’s New Scooby-Doo? Volume 2: Safari, So Goodi! This exciting installment of the popular Scooby-Doo library will be unleashed March 9, 2004.

Safari, So Goodi! is the second volume of episodes from What’s New Scooby-Doo?, the hit animated television series that recently completed its second season on KIDS WB!, which airs the program every Saturday morning. Documenting the hilarious trials and tribulations of Scooby-Doo and his fellow cast of characters, the program is a 21st Century version of the classic cartoon characters as they employ new technology, along with their wits, to navigate through new mysteries and adventures during their travels. The first DVD/VHS volume of the series, Space Ape at the Cape, was released to great success in August 2003.

Safari, So Goodi! will feature four episodes from What’s New Scooby-Doo? In “It’s Mean, It’s Green, It’s The Mystery Machine,” the gang’s famed Mystery Machine becomes a mystery itself when it suddenly seems to have a mind of its own. “Riva Ras Vegas” follows the gang’s trip to Las Vegas to a pop concert that quickly turns into a ghost hunt when the specter of Rufus Raucous, a masked magician thought to be dead, wreaks havoc in the theater. In “Roller Ghoster Ride,” Scooby-Doo and friends prepare for a day of adventure at Thrill Rides, the world’s most exciting extreme sports theme park, but fun turns into danger and mystery when they encounter a series of “accidental” malfunctions on the park’s attractions. In Safari, So Goodi!, concerned about the region’s diminishing animal population, Velma takes everyone to East Africa for a video safari. Once there, they learn the animals are not only disappearing, but also being replaced by shape shifting jungle demons!

What’s New Scooby-Doo? carries on the rich tradition of the world famous cartoon, which has entertained millions of fans for more than 30 years. Scooby-Doo’s extraordinary success has resulted in a host of other titles for broadcast television and a 2002 live action feature film starring Freddie Prinze, Jr., Sarah Michelle Gellar, Matthew Lillard and Linda Cardellini. The film was a major success, prompting Warner Bros. Pictures to develop and produce a sequel, Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed, which is currently in production and slated for a March 26, 2004, release in theaters throughout the country.

Safari, So Goodi! DVD Features include “Scooby Talk,” in which Velma translates modern Scooby-Doo talk, and the “Scooby Trip Map,” documenting a road map for viewers to learn about new places Scooby-Doo, Daphne, Fred, Shaggy and Velma travels to in the title, including Las Vegas and Africa.
