Warner Bros. Pictures just sent over this first online look at the new poster for Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed, in theaters on March 26 and starring Freddie Prinze, Jr., Sarah Michelle Gellar, Matthew Lillard, Linda Cardellini, Seth Green, Alicia Silverstone and Peter Boyle.

In the sequel, Scooby and the gang confront an anonymous masked villain who is plotting to take over the city of Coolsville by wreaking mayhem with a monster machine that creates Mystery Inc.’s classic foes like The Pterodactyl Ghost, The Black Knight Ghost and The 10,000 Volt Ghost. Meanwhile, the gang’s detecting abilities are scrutinized by relentless reporter Heather Jasper-Howe (Silverstone), aided by museum curator Patrick Wisely (Green) and thwarted by nasty Jeremiah Wickles (Boyle).

Warner Bros. is gearing up for promotions for Scooby Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed, which is scheduled to open on March 26th. Below are 2 new teaser posters and the third may become the main poster. Also, according to a CBS and Nickelodean press release, the cast of Scooby Doo 2 is expected to make a special appearance on a one-hour morning show to kick off Super Bowl XXXVIII. The show entitled ’Nickelodeon Takes Over the Super Bowl’ will air on Sunday, Feb. 1st at 11 am EST on CBS. We’re not sure yet whether Sarah will be making a taped appearance since she is already in Tokyo to start work on The Grudge.
