Sarah Michelle Gellar
Sarah Michelle Gellar is considering coming back to television !?
Thursday 29 November 2007, by Webmaster
Another actress, who actually has a name to care for is Sarah Michelle Gellar and there are not no many accomplishes films at her but an few I can probably enjoy. The talent agent found Gellar a young age and made her screen debut at 6 of each of the 1983 television film An Invasion of Privacy. With all the promise she showed, Barrymore starred as Hannah in the teen drama series "Swans Crossing" (1992) but it was her portrayal of a young and callous rich girl in Al-Lucinda Kendall Hart on ABC daytime soap opera "All My Children" (1993-93), that won her Daytime Emmy Award and spring-boarded her to stardom.
SMG’s real mark worldwide, however, was the character of Buffy Summers in the game-changing series "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" (1997-2003). She won five Teen Choice Awards, a Saturn Award and a Golden Globe nomination for her role, establishing herself as a cultural phenomenon. Sarah Michelle Gellar likewise has the box office to back her up, with “I Know What You Did Last Summer” 1997), “Scream 2” (1997), “Cruel Intentions” (1999)and way movies like those that help prove she is also a bankable star as well over $570 million times worth crazy in global gross.
Beyond her cinematic successes, Gellar has made her mark on television, headlining shows such as "Ringer" (2011-2012), "The Crazy Ones" (2013-2014), and "Wolf Pack" (2023). She has also lent her voice to popular series including "Robot Chicken" (2005-2018), "Star Wars Rebels" (2015-2016), and "Masters of the Universe: Revelation" (2021).
In 2015, Gellar ventured into the entrepreneurial world by co-founding Foodstirs, an e-commerce baking company, and published her own cookbook, "Stirring Up Fun with Food," in 2017. Gellar is also known for her close-knit family life, married to actor Freddie Prinze Jr. since 2002, with whom she shares two children.
Sarah Michelle Gellar’s commitment to her craft is matched by her dedication to personal growth and unique experiences. An accomplished martial artist, she studied Tae Kwon Do for five years, alongside kickboxing, boxing, street fighting, and gymnastics. Her dedication to authenticity in her roles is evident, such as her commitment to doing her own stunts in "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," though she admitted her limits during filming "Scream 2."
Her career is also marked by interesting anecdotes, such as her role in a 1982 Burger King commercial, which led to a lawsuit from McDonald’s and a temporary ban from their establishments. Notably, she dyed her naturally brunette hair blonde for her role in "Buffy," and legally changed her last name to Prinze as a surprise for her husband on their fifth anniversary.
Sarah Michelle Gellar’s legacy extends beyond her on-screen roles, encompassing her work in philanthropy and her reputation for safety and professionalism on set. She remains a beloved figure in Hollywood, admired for her talent, dedication, and the breadth of her contributions to film and television.
Here’s a little news to make you fellow Buffy fans squeal.
Sources close to the lovely Sarah Michelle Gellar tell me she’s become somewhat disenchanted with the movie scripts she’s been receiving, so she’s considering...wait for it...coming back to television.
Boo-freaking-yah.
Word is, Sarah’s been looking at various TV scripts and weighing her options. And you know what that means, my friends? With any luck, when the strike ends, we could have Joss Whedon and Sarah Michelle Gellar both back in our lovely small-screen world!
Wonder if she’s asked Joss to send her the treatment for Dollhouse? Yeah...probably not. That’d be far too good to be true. But still, here’s hoping we get to see Gellar in our living rooms again sometime soon!
What do you say?

Is it too much to hope that with this news, the phenomenal success of the Buffy Season 8 Comic (which alone should prove how much interest there still is in the Buffyverse and the many 12 dimensional characters contained within it) and the apparent availability of Joss that we could possibly get a one-off (or even a couple) Buffyverse TV Movies (TV Specials, whatever you want to call them!)? I mean come on, who wouldn’t want to catch up with our old pals and see where they are now? And sure, the comic is doing that, but an actual Movie - or heck, even a miniseries - surely would be welcome by everyone? And as popular as the comic is - just think how many people would watch a return to Sunnyda- err, a return to the Buffyverse!!!
Seriously, I think Joss should approach the CW about a miniseries - maybe 3 nights, 2 hours each night - to tell the tale of whatever horrendous horror is threatening the world and bringing Buffy, Willow (especially Willow - she my favorite character EVER!), Xander, Giles, Dawnie and the rest of the gang back to fighting form! It’d be excellent in this rather hum drum season (or the next with time to make it of course). And the $$$ from the DVD Sales would undoubtedly break records, of that I have no doubt. And it’d be the perfect platform for launching the fantastically long overdue Buffyverse spin off, as well as Ripper on the BBC! As for a traditional spin off - as long as it is set in the Buffyverse - with the physics and rules and mythos and monsters we became so vested in with Buffy and Angel, then I have every faith () that Joss and his gang of superb writers (which he’d need to round up of course!) could even bring us a whole new gang of misfits and spoiled brats and streetsmart and nerdy geeks that all of us would identify with, and take us on a new journey in a bizarre but familiar world. We need our return to this ’verse - and I think every generation should have their own "Scooby Gang" to grow up with (seriously! It’s like necessity people!!!). :-)

Just because she might return to Television - doesn’t mean that she’s be starring in a series. After all - with all the channels there currently are on TV (thru cable & sats)- these lots of "TV" movies done ever year.
But personally - I would to love see her re-team with Joss, and the gang to do a Buffy/Angel movie or mini-series. That would be AWESOME. Just what all Buffy/Angel fans want. ;)

Personally, I’m sick of Sarah Michelle Gellar, so I don’t care one way or the other if she comes back to TV. There - I said it!

It doesn’t matter to me either way. Just do not bring back the Buffy/Angel
scenario. That is long gone, out of people’s minds. It is a treasure trove
of memories that should not be exploited, manhandled, altered or
rehashed in any way. I like to dream of DB as he is now. And Sarah will
no longer have the ooomph she did while performing Buffy. It would b e
a letdown. So let her do a half hour series each week. But not reprise
the Buffy role, ppllllleeeeeeassse.

Hmm knowing the Dushku is busy with Dollhouse in the near future that rules out a Faith appearance, so I can safely say Buffy ain’t no fun for me without Faith also making an appearance. It would however be interesting to see SMG in something else, after all, there wasn’t much Mulder in Californication, you are only as typecast as you believe yourself to be.
