Rajneeti’s foreign lady

Prakash Jha’s political saga ‘Rajneeti’ has added yet another cast to its already remarkable star team.

The film has roped in Sarah Thompson Kane, a popular English actress of ‘Cruel Intentions 2’ fame and one who plays South African cricketer Hansie Cronje’s wife in the 2008 biopic ‘Hansie’.

In Rajneeti, Sarah said to be featuring as Ranbir Kapoor’s American girlfriend. They both fall in love in American university in the film. Later Ranbir leaves her behind to pursue his family’s political dynastic ambitions in India; however Sarah follows him in the course of the film.

The director revealed that they had auditioned nearly 30 girls before they finalized on Sarah. “She was right for the part. It’s a substantial role and we needed an actress who could act and would look compatible with Ranbir,” said Jha. Interestingly, this is the first time Ranbir has shot with the Caucasian lady and sources revealed that they both didn’t share much compatibility. So much that, the director felt to do away with a kissing scene of the two in the film.
