SERENITY #1 GOES BACK TO PRESS Dark Horse announced Wednesday that Serenity #1, the first issue in the limited series based on Joss Whedon’s upcoming film, has sold out at the publisher and Diamond and will go back to press and new printings that will be available in two weeks. Dark Horse said it intends to fill backorders on the first print run with this new printings, but will allow retailers who don’t want their backorders filled that way to cancel them. The second printing will also be available for new orders. Issue #1 featured three covers, by John Cassaday, Bryan Hitch and J.G. Jones, respectively, and each cover will be reprinted as part of the new, second print run and can be individually ordered. Written by Whedon and Brett Matthews, and illustrated by Will Conrad & Laura Martin, according to Diamond, “Serenity #1 finds Mal Reynolds and company in a familiar situation: broke, and on the wrong side of a number of very large firearms. Readers should expect cinematic action and offbeat characters in the Whedon mold, dynamically illustrated.” |
