Empire Awards Shortlist Announced
King Kong leads the pack
At a glittering event in London last night, the nominations for the 2006 Sony Ericsson Empire Awards were announced to a packed house. The big news is that Peter Jackson’s King Kong, despite the naysayers, took five nominations.
The big ape was closely followed by Crash and Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit, both of which had four nods, and then War of the Worlds, Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, Batman Begins and The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe which all had three.
The full list of nominations is below. The winners will be announced at a ceremony in London on March 13, with comedian Bill Bailey hosting.
