Seth Green - "Greg The Bunny" Tv Series - Best of the Film Parodies comes to DVD

Friday 4 August 2006, by Webmaster

This October, human and puppet worlds collide when Shout! Factory releases a two-disc DVD set that combines the genius of such classic films as Pulp Fiction, 2001: A Space Odyssey and The Godfather, with the insanity of an irreverent group of disgruntled puppets to produce Greg The Bunny: The Best Of The Film Parodies. Timed to coincide with the fall 2006 launch of IFC’s new season of “Greg The Bunny,” the DVD will be available to own October 24th for the suggested list price of $24.98.

Best known for his starring role alongside Seth Green (Family Guy, Robot Chicken) in his self-titled Fox sitcom, Greg the Bunny made quite a name for himself as America’s most notorious puppet in his definitely not-for-kids show. Now, Greg is getting back to his edgy roots with old pals Warren the Ape, Count Blah and the inimitable Green to parody some of Hollywood’s most classic films.

Available for the first time on DVD, Greg The Bunny: The Best Of The Film Parodies includes all 14 IFC episodes with commentary by the show creators, two featurettes, deleted scenes, a gag reel, photo galleries and a hidden easter egg, all on two uproarious discs

For Greg and Warren, the cancellation of their Fox sitcom is now just a painful memory. More current concerns are overdue rent and funding Warren’s drinking habit. So, they’ve returned to where it all began: making film parodies for IFC. Home viewers will surely be unable to turn away as Greg tunes in, turns on and drops out in Sleazy Rider (Easy Rider), Warren goes on a bloodthirsty rampage in Naturally Sewn Killers (Natural Born Killers) and Count Blah takes a bite out of crime in The Godpappy (The Godfather).

Other highlights include IFC parodies of Pulp Fiction, Annie Hall, Fargo, Ed Wood, Barton Fink and more. This is not the Fox sitcom. This is not for the family. This is the Greg The Bunny: The Best Of The Film Parodies: sex, violence and videotape.

Along with all 14 episodes bursting with graphic violence, illegal drug use and gratuitous puppet sex, Greg The Bunny: The Best Of The Film Parodies is also jam-packed with never-before-seen extras fans of Greg, cult TV aficionados and cineastes will not want to miss. Exclusive extras include two featurettes, “Affurmative Action” and “Ezekiel 25:17,” commentaries on all 14 episodes from the show creators, deleted scenes, a gag reel and photo galleries.

Greg The Bunny: The Best Of The Film Parodies is now available at Amazon. As of yet, there is not a release date for the UK. Visit the DVD database for more information.
