Added 7/17: After Sam turns down the Kents’ invite for dinner and insists Lois comes with him, Lois makes a comment to Clark when she gives him that surprise hug goodbye. "This is all about Chloe. I know my dad’s hiding something," she says.
 Clark enters Lex’s hangar looking for Lex. As he makes his way around, he notices the fuselage is dented. A door is missing, ripped off its hinges. Clark realizes when he sees this that it was Lex’s plane he robbed! (Apparently the robbing happened in the previous episode, and maybe the flying rumor is true?) His expression shows how rattled he is at seeing the violent result of his powers.
 Clark sees a photo on Sam Lane’s desk of a two year old Lois with Sam and her mother. We learn Ellen/Ella Lane died when Lois was six. Clark tells her he’s sorry. "Don’t be. Unless you’re the one who got her hooked on cigarettes behind the gym in high school." Lois confides to Clark that she doesn’t really remember her mother. This is around the time when Sam catches them in his office (see below).
 Lois has a dramatic moment, but it’s all an act to make Sam feel bad. (That’s where the "you ever wonder why I never had any friends?" thing comes in). After Sam goes away, Lois returns to normal, and tells Clark he’s such a sucker. "I think there might have been another reason you didn’t have any friends," Clark teases.
 Clark hears something with his super hearing. Perhaps Sam returning?
