In the empty halls of Smallville High at night, there’s a voice we hear coming from the Torch office. The voice belongs to Chloe but she is off-screen. She says, “I don’t know where to start. I’m sure you must have a million questions, but I don’t know how many answers I can give you..." The camera then reveals that someone is sitting in front of the computer watching Chloe’s taped message on video. Chloe’s voice continues with, "please find out who did this Clark, you’re the only one who can." The image then freeze frames.

 After Lex’s conversation with Tariq, he is late for an arranged meeting with Dr. Gabrielle Vaughan. Lex says, “I’m well aware of my tardiness, Doctor - But some things are worth the risk.”
