Whedon.info Buffy The Vampire SlayerSpike/Buffy Poem "True Romance" by Spike1985Spike1985 Thursday 28 December 2006, by Webmaster True Romance A once instantaneous gratification shared by two lovers; but things aren’t always what they seem. For tragedy surrounds them as they bleed; cut at each other’s throats, and opening new wounds each time they reach the point of ecstasy. A colder comfort; fake lives for others to see. A shadow with light in the darkness. Tears like a rainfall, shallow and hollow; nothing completes them; Even if she’s on her knees, while begging for mercy by saying "please," Sunlight and sunset get lost in their heads; it’s what they take to bed. Stranger than fiction is the lives they seem to lead. Everything’s complicated and completed, while in need of each other’s embrace when they are face to face. He’s a dead man on the outside, and she’s dead within; a war raging battle inside of themselves that they think they can’t win. When it’s all over, she finally gives in complete of herself telling the truth. He doesn’t believe her, but the roof does; it’s coming apart at the seams, and opening the shadow of darkness that they were surrounded in. Now he gasps in pain, for he’s found his life within. The death he has on the outside isn’t any longer a burden; more of a plea for survival so he too can be free. The fear surrounds them as they try to flee; he asks of her to leave so that she may be free to remember what is real ecstasy. The truth she told is killing him inside; he starts to feel more pain as he starts to die. She holds onto his hand; for she knows the real fire inside. Everything is good now; that she won’t hide, but it’s too late. the fire has consumed him from the inside out; no second chances, for his life that felt hurt is lost out at sea. All the things that didn’t seem real enough to be true; it takes over him like a wave from an ocean of blue. All she can do is now sit and glace when she had the chance, and the hope of remembering now what was a true romance. 1 Message |
