Paint and Sculpt: The details in the painting and features are stunning. From the laces on the boots, to the veins in his hands, up to the white highlights in his platinum hair, this all makes for a fantastic piece. The detail is purely amazing. The sculpt is the best likeness of James/Spike I have ever seen. The facial expression catches his smirk perfectly. James’ scar is clearly present, as are the infamous black nails. We all know, though, it can’t be Spike or James without those cheek bones, which are perfectly executed. 10/10

Clothing: The clothing is exquisitely made and tailored to fit perfectly. In the past, some Sideshows have fallen short in regards to their clothing (Hush Buffy’ outfit, Human Willow’s shoes, Vamp Willow’s ill-fitting leather outfit), but these clothes are form fitting and look exactly as they do on the real Spike. The belt is a bit drab compared to the rest of the clothing, but it is hidden under under the shirt and jacket, so it is barely noticeable. I;m sure you could find another one for him at a toy store. The coat has wiring in the bottom hem so one can bend it to blow in the breeze, or sit closely to him. Very nice feature, and it looks very realistic. The shirt is even striped. The detail that went into making him is astounding. They overlooked nothing! 10/10

Base: The base is a little bland, though beautifully painted. The base is a round piece of street. There is a SPIKE plaque on the front, in his own font. The detail in the painting of the base is magnificent. It truly looks like an alley. The front of the base looks almost rusty. It is a very heavy and well built piece. The figure is securely stationed on the base and does not wobble. I always had a hard time with the 12" Sideshows falling over. This piece is very stable. Because it is made of polystone and not plastic, it needs to be. 8/10
