Question : I was just wondering if you know what is going on with Fox’s new show Tru Calling. I’m intrigued with its concept, but I’m rather worried and wondering if I should even bother watching it. After being disappointed by Fox so many times with such great shows treated unfairly and stuck in horrible time slots (John Doe) and shows that didn’t get their time to shine (Keen Eddie, Firefly), I’m curious if Tru Calling will get the same beating so many other Fox shows got. It’s got a horrible spot on Thursdays at 8 pm against Friends, Survivor, Threat Matrix (by the way, is that any good ?). I just don’t think it will survive, and not to mention it’s lined up with Skin encores, a lot of good that will do. Do you think Fox will give this show a chance, like put it before 24 ? - Mary

Matt : If Joe Millionaire continues to tank, I’m not sure what Fox will do on Tuesdays. But I wouldn’t count on Tru Calling getting the call. This does look like another sacrificial loser, especially in this killer time period and with Fox’s lousy track record for standing behind its weirder shows. All I can say, though, is that if the core audience of genre fans decide not to watch because they’ve already decided it’s doomed, then the show is as DOA as those bodies Tru oversees in the morgue.
