Steve Carell’s movie version of the classic Don Adams TV spy comedy Get Smart starts filming next month, and Warner Brothers has finished rounding out the cast. Variety says that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Terence “Kneel before Zod!” Stamp have been added to the film alongside Carell and Anne Hathaway.

Steve is of course playing Maxwell Smart and Anne Hathaway is his girl Agent 99. Stamp will play Max’s nemesis Siegried, the evil leader of KAOS, a role made famous by the great Bernie Kopell. The Rock is playing a brand new character invented just for the movie. Sounds like he’s random henchman number three to me.

Terence Stamp hasn’t appeared a major movie role since the movie Elektra. I guess it scared him off for a bit. Counting Get Smart, he now has four upcoming movies in various stages of production.

The Rock on the other hand is everywhere. In 2006 you saw him in Gridiron Gang. He’s in Richard Kelly’s still not released movie Southland Tales, he’s supposed to be in the upcoming Reno 911 movie, and he’s just finished filming work as another football player in The Game Plan.
