THE O.C. continues to make sound waves in every episode with the show’s featured music and "AOL’s THE O.C. Music Showcase." On Tuesday, Aug. 26, THE O.C. will feature songs from Liz Phair ("Why Can’t I"), Leona Naess ("Lazy Days"), Brassy ("Play Some D") and Smashing Pumpkins ("My Sheila"). The following week’s episode airing Tuesday, Sept. 2 will feature songs from Spoon, The Grand Skeem, Palm Street, Black Eyed Peas, Grade 8, Fountains of Wayne and The Roots. Rock band Phantom Planet performs THE O.C.’s theme song "California"; original music in THE O.C. is composed by Christopher Tyng.

"I’m a huge fan of music, as is everyone on the show," said Josh Schwartz, creator/executive producer of THE O.C. "So every week we try and use music we all love, and hope people watching love it too.

But the most important thing is the songs are organic to the stories we are telling. Hopefully, the music will be another reason for people to tune in."

In addition to the show’s cutting edge soundtrack, music videos are premiered weekly during "AOL’s THE O.C. Music Showcase." World premiere previews of Dido’s "White Flag" and Yellowcard’s "Way Away" videos will be shown for the first time ever during the fourth and fifth episodes respectively of THE O.C. Tuesday, Aug. 26 and Tuesday, Sept. 2 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.

After each video is previewed on "AOL’s "THE O.C. Music Showcase," it is available in its entirety, for 48 hours, exclusively on AOL (AOL Keyword: THE O.C.). There, AOL and AOL for Broadband members are also able to listen to additional music featured during the show. AOL members can purchase music from these artists at the new AOL Shop: Music, DVDs and Videos, and select songs are also available to purchase on MusicNet@AOL.

Dido’s millions of fans around the world - who sent her debut album "No Angel" to four-times platinum status in the US, five-times platinum in Europe (IFPI), nine-times platinum in her native UK, and multi-platinum in more than a dozen other territories - have their patience rewarded this September with the arrival of her second album, "Life For Rent."

Formed in 1997, California-by-way-of-Florida punk heroes Yellowcard have created an enormous grassroots fan base from tireless touring and hundreds of passionate live shows. They are also one of the few working punk bands with a classically trained violinist in their ranks. Their new album "Ocean Avenue" was recently released and includes "Way Away" - an anthem for young punk fans who know "how it feels to be alone and not believe." The video, directed by videographer/celebrity and fashion photographer/author Patrick Hoelck shows the band performing outdoors in their signature all-out, no-holds-barred style. Yellowcard never disappoints, and their reputation for making a genuinely personal connection with their fans is founded on each of the countless shows they’ve played.
