Kotaku.com This Day in Gaming, September 19th (buffy mention)Saturday 23 September 2006, by Webmaster 1997: Official Playstation Magazine is launched. It’s the only Playstation magazine to include a demo disc, as well as the only magazine to be licensed by Sony. Would Sony license Nintendo Power if they were given a chance, just for the free press? Could they just come out and say, "yeah, we’re good with Nintendo Power - now get us on the cover already." 2000: Buffy the Vampire Slayer ships for GBC in the US. I would talk about how great the show is and how everyone should watch the DVDs, but I don’t have delusions that you’ll listen. Let’s face it, Buffy fans are more frightening than missionaries - and we tend to snort when we laugh. 2000: Hasbro releases Frogger 2: Swampy’s Revenge for PC in the US. The title is so fantastic we might have to play it, or at least imagine what an awesome horror movie it could be. "OMG!" "What" "I think you just ran-over that frog!" "OK. We never tell anyone what we did this summer. It goes with us to the grave." "What? It’s just a frog, dude." "No, I was talking about all the gay sex we had camping." "Oh...that was supposed to be a secret?" "How did you tell people already?? We didn’t even have electricity!" Mark Wilson |
