Honorable Mention: Friends R (NBC), Will & Grace (NBC) Another Lackluster Thursday 8:30 p.m. Entry: Good Morning, Miami (NBC) Yesterday’s Losers: Threat Matrix (ABC), Tru Calling (Fox), Jamie Kennedy Experiment R (WB), Run of the House R (WB), Primetime Thursday (ABC) Ratings Breakdown: With one episode to go, CBS’s Survivor: Pearl Islands scored a season high 13.5/20 at 8 p.m. — 37 percent, on average, above a repeat of NBC’s Friends (#2: 11.7/17) and the 8:30 p.m. time period debut of Good Morning, Miami (#2: 8.6/12). Combined with CSI (#1 for the night: 19.6/28) and Without A Trace (#2: 13.2/20), CBS won the evening with a considerable 35 percent advantage over NBC. As for Good Morning, Miami, 77 percent retention out of Friends does not bode well for the sitcom’s future. Also on NBC was Will & Grace (#2: 10.5/15), Scrubs (#2: 8.8/12) and ER (#1: 14.7/23) all at typical overnight levels. Although ER is still winning the 10 p.m. hour, its advantage over Without A Trace was just 11 percent last night. On ABC, below average was the primary observation with its third place combination of Threat Matrix (4.5/ 6), Extreme Makeover (6.1/ 9) and Primetime Thursday (5.6/ 8). WWE Smackdown! on UPN came in fourth overall with a typical 4.2/ 6. Over at Fox, although Tru Calling remains DOA with a fourth place 3.8/ 6 at 8 p.m., a double repeat dose of The Simple Life in the 9 p.m. hour perked up to a 4.3/ 6. On the WB, even an improved 3.5/ 5 for repeat special Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer could not ignite repeats of The Jamie Kennedy Experiment (#6: 2.2/ 3) and Run of the House (#6: 1.6/ 2) from 9-10 p.m. |
