Previews of the show are scheduled to begin on March 29. Kartheiser played the son of the title character in Angel. His film credits include Untamed Heart, Little Big League, The Indian in the Cupboard, Alaska, Masterminds, Another Day in Paradise and Dandelion. His theatrical credits include regional mountings of The History of Henry IV and V, Rebecca of Sunnybrooke Farm, Pippi Longstocking, A Christmas Carol, The Velveteen Rabbit and Raggedy Ann and Andy. Set in Manchester, England, Slag Heap is a chronicle of teenage prostitutes, born from Thatcher’s politics in the aftermath of Britain’s Industrial Revolution. These adolescents live in a world where the buying and selling of humanity has become the primary industry. Slag Heap, directed by Michael Morris, will officially open at Cherry Lane Theatre on April 13. In addition to Kartheiser, the cast includes Brienin Bryant, Alexander Flores, Polly Lee, Maggie Moore and Janelle Anne Robinson.
