Aolmusicnewsblog.com Weird Al Gets an Animated Pancreas (seth green mention)Jolie Lash Wednesday 15 November 2006, by Webmaster For his twelfth album, ’Straight Outta Lynnwood,’ Weird Al has done more than put together a host of funny parody songs. The massive animation fan recruited several of his favorite artists for a second disc of videos crafted by his heroes. "I thought this was a great way to get video content and work with a lot of the animators that I’ve been dying to work with," Al tells AOL Music. Among the artists who participated were ’Ren and Stimpy’ creator John Kricfalusi, Academy Award-nominated illustrator Bill Plimpton and ’Robot Chicken’ makers Seth Green and Matt Senreich. Also contributing was Jim Blashfield, who’s best known for videos including Michael Jackson’s ’Leave Me Alone’ and Talking Heads’ ’And She Was.’ "His style’s really recognizable. He did all these photo-collage-type animations," Al says. For the song ’Pancreas,’ Blashfield "used a lot of found footage of old educational and industrial film, and he created a three-dimensional dancing pancreas. It’s a phenomenal piece. As random as my song is, he took it to the next level." |
