Panandscan.com Tim MinearWhat in the Whedonverse ? : Creative Screenwriting Releases Tim Minear DVDSunday 23 April 2006, by Webmaster Magazine Creative Screenwriting has released DVD recordings of November 2005’s Screenwriting Expo. The pick of the litter includes Oscar winner Paul Haggis reflecting on co-writing and directing ’Crash’ as well as having to live with the Executive Producer title for ’Walker, Texas Ranger’. You can also pick up a copy of Joss Whedon receiving the magazine’s Sci Fi Award from Capt. Tightpants himself, ’Serenity’ star Nathan Fillion. The real find, though, is Tim Minear’s Breaking the Story seminar, which walks participants through the real life experience of breaking a story in the writer’s room. Minear allowed those in attendance to choose from his most well-known credits - ’Angel’, ’Firefly’ and ’Wonderfalls’ - as story fodder. The crowd went with ’Angel,’ but that didn’t stop Minear from re-visiting ’Firefly’s’ rumored, Fox-nixed "darker storylines." Only Minear can do it justice, but let’s just say sex, death and a boatload of Reavers are involved. If that’s not enough to perk your interest, I’m sure Tim’s revelation of Whedon’s "couch humping" writer’s room behavior will. (For the record, when asked the next day about the "couch humping," Whedon reported that he, in fact, did not hump the couch, but "made love" to it.) Click on the link : |
