Whedonverse shows and actors in the new TV Geeks Awards 2009

Wednesday 2 September 2009, by Webmaster

Are you sick of watching, year after year, how your favorite television series don’t receive the appreciation they deserve by the most important television awards judges? Do you believe that you have the television expertise and judgment enough to express your taste with conviction? Are you prepared to participate in a brand new experience that will raise the concept of the TV awards to a level never known before?

If the answer for all those question is yes, you should be happy because we are introducing the first annual television geeks academy awards and you are invited to participate.

The best prepared judges when it comes to award television excellence are those who watch television with devotion. The Annual Television Geeks Academy Awards were born with the main objective to give everyone, with no restriction, the opportunity to express their vote; a vote resulted from a free, un-pressured opinion. The main intention is to avoid the tradition of the well-known television awards, like the Emmys and Golden Globes: every year, nominated and awarded shows remain practically the same as if they were pre-established while dozens of productions and professionals are nothing else but ignored.

With a quick, easy and free registration process, you can become a member of the Academy. Just go to the Academy website and complete the registration form and you’ll then be able to vote in all 29 categories listed. From the moment you are a member, you’ll have 7 days, from September 2nd to September 9th, to send your preselected candidates. That pre-selection will determine the final nominations. We intend not to ignore any show. Every electable show can be pre-selected by the users.

Once this step is over, the Academy will release the final nominations. Then, the members will have 10 days to vote who they think should be the winner in each category. The first annual Geeks Academy Awards results will be released on September 23rd.

So, if you’re still trying to understand how is possible that shows like The Wire, The Shield or Battlestar Galactica weren’t appreciated by their quality or If you can’t believe Martin Sheen didn’t get an Emmy Award for his performance as the US president on the West Wing, this is your opportunity to make up for it.

We invite you to become a member of the television geeks Academy and vote. Feel the pleasure of giving justice. Let the world know your opinions and preferences.
