’Wonderfalls’ Axed

Critics loved Wonderfalls. Which just goes to show what they know. The tyro mid-season series has been officially canned by Fox after only four outings, including a last-ditch move from Fridays to Thursdays. Auds stayed away in droves.

Of course, the fact that the show was about a girl who talks to inanimate objects (which talk back) for life guidance may have been part of the problem. After all, CBS already has a show with a girl who talks to God, and Fox itself has Tru Calling — girl talking to dead people.

What’s next? A girl learning life lessons from invertebrates? Wait a minute...we all pretty much do that.
