I. The last “mutant cure” was in a 2004 Astonishing X-Men comic series, written by Joss Whedon (“Buffy the Vampire Slayer”).

II. Jean Grey died, became the cosmic Phoenix in Uncanny X-Men 101 (1976).

III. She went all Dark Phoenix in 1980 in Uncanny X-Men No. 134 .

IV. She became so powerful she flew into space and “ate” a whole star. (Burp.)

V. Grey gained control long enough to kill herself to save the universe.

VI. Proving nobody stays dead in the comics, she returned in 1985 in Fantastic Four 286 .

VII. She’s currently dead again.

VIII. The Beast and Angel were two of the original 1963 Jack Kirby/Stan Lee X-Men.

IX. The Beast was just a big guy who was “super-agile.”
