If you pay $800 to meet someone who was on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, you deserve to be conned and have your money stolen. Just imagine how many starving children that $800 could have helped feed instead.

I agree...that’s a pretty outrageous price.

Errr how about people shouldnot have kids they cant afford to take care of. Lack of personal responsibility is why the world is going to he**. People are free to spend money they earned on whatever they want. Life is short.

Great! Let’s punish children for the parents irresponsibility. Selfish and greedy people like you, are the reason the world is going to he**

don’t forget, it was $800 Australian, which is about $400 US and £200 UK.

Well I dont think they deserved to have their money taken ,no matter how much $800 or less...We all give to charity and do our bit...tho the money was alot if I had worked hard and had the money, No one has the right to judge how I spend my money....And to have it stolen is unfair....

"Just imagine how many starving children that $800 could have helped feed instead." In the course of the last year, how much money have you spent on luxuries (high-speed internet, DVDs, music, hair gell, fancy clothes, nights out, chocolate, fizzy drinks, cinema tickets, video games...). Go spend that money on "starving children" and leave those that want to spend it on going to see Buffyverse actors alone. I would never personally pay that sort of money for such an event but it would make me a hypocrite to have a go at those that would. "Let he who is without sin..."

Sure everyone wastes money on stuff they don’t need. But in this case, $800 was being spent to meet people on Buffy. The $800 is instead lining the pockets of a seedy promoter. Sure that’s wrong. That guy is a jerk, but at the same time Buffy fans made themselves an easy target. Yes, I would prefer that money to have gone to feed starving children, rather than this jerk promoter. In my opinion, it’s not really worth it. You’re not meeting the character’s they play, just the people who play them. I know that sounds obvious, but I really wonder if most fans "deep down" really make that distinction?

Think of the money used to get the computer you’re using to post these comments. hypocracy much?

I cant beleive this Bar-Steward has conned over 250 people out of a serious ammount of money that was given in good faith and all you guys can do is argue with each other about whether they deserved it or not or whether £200 ($800AU) is too high a price. Get some perspective and slag off the theiving ninny behind all this.

A computer has more than one function. I use mine for internet sure, but I also use it for work and numerous other things. $800 to meet buffy people is a far larger waste of money than purchasing a computer.

I don’t know why everyone is judging the people who got ripped off! I would definately pay money to meet the stars of Buffy. The show really means a lot to me and I would love to meet the actors and thank them for a job well done. Not to mention get pictures taken with them and an autograph! Also during that time you get to meet other fans with the same interest as you and maybe get to purchase exlusive merchandise. It is a thrill. I can say this because I went to the Star wars convention in Indiana. It cost almost 200 and it was awesome.

No one has the right to dictate to other people what they spend their hard earned cash on!! I paid £300 to go to the Halloween Convention in the UK last year and it was worth every penny. The price is set by the stars and their management, i admit it’s sometimes way over priced, but if people want to save up and go that’s up to them!

Notice how the ’non-slaggers’ are the ones leaving their tags!

My ’go spend that money on starving children’ was intended to illustrate a point. It was not intended as a litteral commandment. £200 is a lot of money (to me) but if you have the money, you should spend it on what you see fit - if that be seeing Buffyverse actors, fine by me! Also, I agree wholeheartedly with the above comments regarding - why are we arguing about whether the price was justified? Some evil bugger conned fellow fans out of serious quantities of cash!!!! If Buffy and Angel has taught us anything then surely it has taught us that extortion is something we should group together to fight!?!? Give the fans their money back, you heatless sod!!!!
