Thursday 13 October 2005, by Anonymous : Hm. Two weeks, around half the budget made back. Doesn’t sound great does it? Of course when you take into account that that’s only domestically and not inclusive of the apparently quite healthy UK figures. It’s number one! It beat out the student-baiting Pride & Prejudice(sp?) Then also remember; whatever you hear quoted in £ as the amount it has made in the UK, go and pretty much double that for the all-important $ amount and things don’t look bad at all really for a `niche` movie at the slow point of the year. Then take into account DVD sales and well, Serenity should make a fairly healthy profit in the end. Emphasis on profit - a word studios considering sequels consider very important. That being said... Go out there and drag people at gunpoint to see the film.Thursday 13 October 2005, by Anonymous : Im thinking if you ad in advertising etc the studios will make back its money. MAYBE a small profit. If Joss would be interested in a straight to DVD type sequel than Im sure that would happen. These comments are an anwser to this article : Firefly - "Serenity" Movie is now #7 at the Box Office
