The WB didn’t kill off Buffy as a response, Joss killed her as a part of an intricate plot that was planned for some time. And the WB didn’t fight for the show, either. They didn’t even act like they wanted it anymore. When did this turn into a fight between the networks??

that is so stupid.Killing Buffy was Joss Whedon’s finale! Not the WB’s revenge of whatever.Joss wouldn’t allow that to happen.

""We couldn’t call it The WC for obvious reasons," Moonves quipped. WC is an abbreviation of the British term "water closet," or toilet."

What he was probably thinking is people would think the two-into-one networks were going down the toilet!

I’m actually glad for the merger because both networks seemed to air some shows I’m more interested in than the "big three" and this just cuts down the possibility of the few shows I do want to watch airing in the same time slot, like is happening now on Wednesdays.

Actually The WB did require that Joss have Buffy killed off at the end of the run on their network. They did foot the bill if you recall. They didn’t want to pay the production cost, there was to be no fight for the show, they were the one calling the shots. Joss had no choice to come up with the idea of her resurection as a result of where the show was left off on the original network. Improvisation!
