Saturday 13 January 2007, by Anonymous : tl;dr. Angel shoulda had a better finale than whan it got. It was the worst finale I’ve seen in years.Saturday 13 January 2007, by Anonymous : Misleading and misinformed. They DID NOT CANCEL Angel. Joss asked early on if there was a *chance* the show might not be renewed (which obviously there always is) and made the decision himself to bring it to a more natural close... Going out with a bang and ensuring it would "Not Fade Away" (see what I did there?) by calling it on his own terms. So the argument doesn’t really hold up.Wednesday 17 January 2007, by Robert : uhm, yeah, they DID cancel "Angel". everyone knows that. the WB told Joss ahead of time, february 04 i believe, to give him time to wrap it up.Saturday 21 April 2007, by Anonymous : I would agree. Technically, you may be right that not renewing a show is different from cancelling it. Nonetheless, it’s tantamount to the same thing since the show didn’t continue and since the choice wasn’t that of Fox or Mutant Enemy, but of the (former) WB. As has been mentioned, Mutant Enemy more or less did its best to wrap up the series in 6 eps or so and leave it open ended in case there might ever be interest in a B/A film. The whole final arc could’ve been better, it’s true, but I thought the only glaring problems were there wasn’t enough "estrogen" on the show after Cordelia left and I would’ve liked to’ve seen a bigger blowout to end the series, a la Buffy’s finale. Unfortunately, now we just have to see how the comics turn out, though I wish they’d integrate the two comics into one larger story instead of continuing to separate them, since there doesn’t seem to be any real need to do so any more. These comments are an anwser to this article : Angel cancelled to stop FOX DVD good sales ?
