Sunday 29 July 2007, by Jacquie : How about a 2 hour movie!!?? Fingers crossed Joss and BBC gets it made.Sunday 29 July 2007, by Anonymous : OMIGOSH!!!! I am so psyched!!!! Finally, a NEW offering from the Buffyverse!!!! The article says it’s about Giles’ days before meeting the Buffster. Given ASH’s age, I can’t see it being completely set in the past (unless someone else portays Young Giles/Ripper maybe). Perhaps the Ripper stuff is told in flashbacks and something happened which is what Giles actually has to solve/resolve/fix in the modern day. As such, I really REALLY need and want an appearance by Willow!!!! I hope she’s in it - if not as a main character then at the very least a cameo by Alyson Hannigan (I hope she’s not too busy with her other stuff, and given the purported friendship between Joss and Alyson and Tony (listen to me naming them like I know them) then A.H. would almost certainly agree to be in it, provided she had no prior engagements scheduled). It might also be a way to include Wesley who could be someone Giles knew back in the day at the Watcher’s Academy. And since Wes and Willow are married in real life, then getting them both to participate would be presumably easier as well!!! I can’t wait to see this - hopefully it will be of the same hig quality that Buffy and ANger were under Joss’ guiding hand. And it’s well past time that Giles got some recognition and more details on his background, including his early days as a rebellious dabbler in the Dark Arts with Ethan Rayne and his other pals in the club of Eygheion (I know I spelled it wrong - you try!). :-) But in addition to Giles....I have got to see my favorite witch!!!! :-) It’d be brilliant if Giles called upon Willow to please come and help him do whatever needs done. Please Please Josh, Aly, BBC and anyone else - I beg of you, put Willow in it!!! :-) And make the next movie about her! :-) Monday 30 July 2007, by Anderida : Ok, so this isn’t the Spike movie I’d dreamed of but hey, it’s the next best thing! ;-) Thank you, Joss, Anthony, for pursuing this and not giving up. And if you get a chance to include William the Bloody ........... Monday 30 July 2007, by Anonymous : The problem with that is throwing Aly in (much as I adore her) or having Spike show up and so on... would utterly destroy the continuity of the entire show. Willow can’t show up to help out because, well, they never met back then. Spike had never met Giles previously either and as far as I remember, neither had Wesley.Tuesday 31 July 2007, by Anonymous : If you guys are pumped up for this as much as I am then gimme a HELL YEAH!!!!!....Tuesday 31 July 2007, by Anonymous : Wow, so is this the real deal? I mean I want to be so excited but we have all herd similar things about there being some kind of spinn off or t.v. movie but wow this is straight from Joss so it must be real. I too would like a two hour movie but hey if this does well who knows were it might lead. Cheers to BBC and all others who made this happen :)Wednesday 1 August 2007, by Anonymous : Oh HELL YEAH!!!!Wednesday 1 August 2007, by Phizzy : Those of you saying you want it to be two hours, well, when it airs in America, it’ll probably be about that long, since BBC airs everything without ad breaks.Wednesday 1 August 2007, by CarolM : That’s great news, even greater news would be that James Marsters as Spike has a role in it, even just a short scene would be enough (though a MAJOR part would be much better). the chemistry between Giles and Spike rocks!!!Thursday 2 August 2007, by Anonymous : Either way hour and a half or two hour I’m happy there is something new with the verse. But those of u who want Ally and other characters from the verse if this is Giles story it won’t make sense cause he didn’t know them at that time but I wouldn’t be surprised if you see an apperance from Mr. Ethan Reins seeing as he knew Giles at this time line or members of the Watchers Council.Thursday 9 August 2007, by Anonymous : Oh god, please keep Spike out of Ripper. This is a Giles movie not a Giles & Spike one.Spike became too overused and over exposed. He’s not needed here and James Marsters is too old now to play Spike.Vampires don’t age but actors do and he is showing his too much to play Spike again. There is a reason he made a time limit to reprise the role.Sunday 12 August 2007, by SuzyQ : My answer to this news is ..."About Bloody time"..Excellent.Monday 17 September 2007, by Suz : It is a great idea and is eagerly anticipated by the legions of Buffy fans BUT, I hate to say it, I don’t think this will ever come to fruition. We have heard it MANY TIMES before, Joss...These comments are an anwser to this article : Joss Whedon announces "Ripper" Tv Movie with Anthony Head & BBC
