Tuesday 19 August 2008 : This is awesome. Where is it from?Tuesday 19 August 2008, by _pinkfish : I have the exact same thing... I was like, 10 when I started watching Buffy. I always loved it. But at the age of 15(that was in 2001) my mom got cancer, around that time they were airing Buffy season 5 in my country. It was really my saviour, because I didn’t feel alone. Quickly afterwards my mom for surgery and she is okay now. But my parent’s got a divorse right away, so Buffy was my second life where I could escape to. Whenever I felt lost in my own life, I turned on the telly and I was safe for awhile. In 2004 I started buying all the Buffy DVD’s. I was still depressed around that time, but Buffy helped me get through it. Whenever I felt like giving up, Buffy was there. She always showed me her strength and helped me to find mine. She saved my life. I’m almost 22 now and I still watch it. Over and over and over. People call me crazy, but I just don’t care. People said I would grow out of my ’Buffy-phase’, but here I am, 6 years later, still watching Buffy. Or technically, 12 years later. No one really understands the power Buffy has. There’s so many people out there who got so many courage of the show. The will to keep fighting. I think we should just accept that some people are just too dumb to understand that a show really can make a difference in your life. Thank you for this article, it’s really great to know that there are people out there who feel the exact same way about Buffy as I do. love, Giulietta These comments are an anwser to this article : Finding meaning and fulfillment in ’Buffy’ |
