Thursday 25 June 2009 : Being a man unafraid to be honest, I can admit that at the young age of 47, I own most of Buffy on dvd and having seen Angel aired so many damn times on TNT that I can practically go to any episode in my head and know it’s enough to drive you crazy!!!! Oops, where was I, oh yes, but, that doesn’t mean I ever touched "Twilight" because like the above author, I have not nor intend to ever do so. Why? I think it’s for the same reasons the author above said in his or her long written opinion of where the show (Buffy) ventured into over the years. Downhill. The thing about Spike’s attempted rape of Buffy in the bathroom is that Buffy had been doing this with Spike for a better part of the season, letting him take her anywhere and anyplace he wanted. In her bathroom, he was only portraying the man (excuse me, vamp) that she wanted him to be. I guess at the point in the bathroom she had just had enough. What I still don’t understand is why the networks canceled Angel just to replace it with another vampire television program. Weird. And yes, Spike in the early part of season two was a bright spot in that season. Still, "fear of change" is what we’re talking about here. Including the author above who refuses to try Twilight because of the fear of change. Me too I suppose but if the mold was broken with Buffy as the above article entails, then why watch Twilight because it don’t get much better than Buffy anyway so I do empathize I really do. Well, except when Buffy returned from the dead in season six. Boy, talk about depression. Hey, did they ever create the "I Need to See a Shrink" Buffy action figure? It would come with it’s own stake and a supply of Prozac. No? Oh well, just my poor attempt at humor. Oh yes, have you seen Season 8 of Buffy where the on-going story of vamps vs people stills reins? Who’s the most popular. I think the authors are doing that on purpose. Weird how real life (Twilight vs Buffy) sort of mirrors what is occurring in a comic book. The on going debate of which is more popular will go on forever I suppose. And why not. Only in America!!!!!!! Well, yes and England, Australia, Canada, some areas of the former Soviet Republic............. Ciao Friday 26 June 2009, by SUZY Q : Buffy and Angel Did Change Vampires in alot of ways.Maybe because of the reason you say ..I think ANGEL changed it more..Buffy was a slayer taking down vampires with out a second thought..But then came sexy ANGEL a vampire with a soul looking for redemption falling for a sexy little blonde Slayer.how poetic it that..Olden Vampire were still prone to being inlove with one special beautiful virgin back in the 1920s films wanting and biting fair maidens over 3 night to turn them into vampires for a mate...Just not showing human response too love as we wanted ,making him more evil than attractive..thats where Angel came in.giving him a soul ,attractive and broody changed it forever .his human side felt love like we wanted it,making the vampire more appealing and better..instead of the same old ugly killers...SPIKE the same before he was just a very bad ass vampire who in his undead life time had killed 2 slayers ,making him fall inlove with a slayer made him charming and appealing to the opersite sex.giving him a soul finished his bad ass days forever all for the love of a woman (Making him more appealing to fans too..over night he went from bad ass to Blondie Bear.)Then True-blood changed it again .they can enter day light with out burning up in seconds...vampire blood being a drug to humans.(altho in BUFFY riley did have a problem with feeding vampires his blood in one episode.).But True Blood turned it around making it alot darker and Raunchy I think....I still love watching Buffy and Angel But i like to watch other vampre shows to see how they change it..If I dont like it i wont watch it...TWILIGHT i didnt like it much.each to their own..These comments are an anwser to this article : It’s Buffy’s Fault That Vampires Are Weak Now
