Still watching, and re-watching, the Buffster. And Loving it. I did not see it from the start either. Also because it didn’t show here (the Netherlands) from the start, but mainly because I didn’t understand what the fuss was all about. A friend told me about it, and I watched 1 episode and didn’t really love it. No, I wasn’t a stupid 9 year old, but a stupid 30 something year old. I don’t remember exactly whem I got hooked. I think during season 3. I remember I had to wait till the new season would be shown here and till dvd’s came out. But I must say I’m very happy I finally did come to my senses. And it is indeed funny to see that the Buffy mania is still on.

I was 8!!! I wasn’t even aware primetime television existed when Buffy was on. However, 7 years back the whole world of television enveloped me like a warm blanket and Angel was the first thing I fell in love with. Upon finding that it was a spin-off, I did a dance of dismay at the lack of order and immediately bought the first two seasons of Buffy and I haven’t looked back since. Buffy sparked my love of all things sci-fi/fantasy and opened me up to a world of fantastic television, most notably the Whedonverse. Television is my life and my steadily increasing collection of DVDs and hectic primetime television schedule is the proof. All of this has led to my annual attendance of Dragon*Con which is changing my life in more ways than one. I owe Joss everything. I think I’ll go watch some Firefly now.

The first episode I ever saw was Anne and since then I was hooked. I didn’t even see the beginning of the episode, but came in during her running on the street and getting hit by a car. I knew I loved the show at the moment she looked up at the demon and stated ’Hi, I’m Buffy. The Vampire Slayer. And you are?’ I still have to smile every time I think about it. I may have missed one episode since then and as soon as the videocassetes came out I bought them (only season 1, 2 and the first one of three, cos then came the DVD’s). I didn’t even know Angel was a vampire until Angel first showed his vampface somewhere in the middle of the season (I blame the green face in one of Buffy’s dreams;)). I believe I was about eleven years old and I had never heard of the show. My sister got picked up for her first high-school-dance and her friend explained that it was Buffy... Only they all watched for Angel. I loved everything about the show:D. And last year I finally went to my first convention (HalloWhedon). So I have to agree that the show turned me into a geek/nerd, or however people want to call it, and I’m proud of it, and that I’m happy the Buffymania is still going strong!
