I thought this movie was crap. Keira Knightly is the most annoying thing ever. It was funny to watch her run though. Whoever cast her totally stuffed up.

Saw Arthur this past weekend. My friend and I were lured by the promise of the emphasis on the historical rather than the mystical. It was okay. But there were three points where our suspension of disbelief was suspended in place of disbelief at the absurdity of what we were seeing on screen.

The first was admittedly, not anything most folks would notice, but for my friend and I it cracked us up to see a harris hawk as the falconry bird of one of the nights. Harris hawks are native to the Southwestern USA, and we found it hilarious to see it in placed in what was supposed to be Roman - Dark Ages Britain. What? They couldn’t get a hawk or falcon native to Britian for a film shot in Britian?

Second, use of the crossbow, which was not seen in Britain until the Norman invasion in 1066, still more than 600 years in the future of the time of this movie.

Third and most hilarious, was Guinevere’s costume in the final battle. I won’t even dignify it by calling it a bikini. It was just preposterous, and blatantly gratuitous (though I’m sure was much appreciated by those fans whose priority is seeing every bit they can see of the lovely Ms Knightly).

It was realy nice to see Ray Winstone though, as one of the knights. I remember him fondly as Will Scarlett in the 1980s British TV series "Robin of Sherwood."

From the review article I’d say this is more for Xena than for Buffy Fans - or did I miss an ep where the Chosen One was slaying monsters in a skimpy leather bikini???
