"Your options are limited on a television show called Buffy the Vampire Slayer, when you’re Buffy."

As opposed to the limitless possibilities offered by Scooby Doo? Of yet another horror movie??? Is she so clueless that she missed all the critical raves? The fact that her show, for which many fans automatically gave her much of the credit, contained horror, comedy, drama, slapstick, dark humor, and highbrow academic references??? That it has spawned academic and theoretical/ethical/theological discourses, debates, as well as scholastic works and courses?

She wants to move on, fine, but why must she denigrate the show that created so much of her fan-base? Did she ever consider that if she had worked so hard at pushing Buffy over the years as she has The Grudge recently that she might actually have met with the widespread critical and FINANCIAL success of, say, Jennifer Garner?

I always respected her as the fine actress that she is. But her attitude of late makes her extremely unappealing to me. I choose as a consumer who to support, and aside from the fact that I have had no interest in any of her movies except Cruel Intentions, I don’t think I will be supporting her career.

I’m not trying to keep her in the "Buffy mold." But I personally feel that, with her comments lately, she has insulted my intelligence, and that of everyone with whom she worked on Buffy. If she wants to move on, fine. But to refer to the show as "jumping the shark" and put down other franchise ideas (including, in the past, big screen films) like no one who ever worked on Buffy or Angel ever had a brain in their head except her, in just inexcusable.
