Saturday 29 January 2005, by Anonymous : They failed to mention that there was a Buffy episode called "tabula rasa" or rosa, dealing with a ’clean slate’ more specificly than LOST.Sunday 30 January 2005, by subrosa : Lost deals with the "clean slate" in a figurative sense and does it throughout the series, whereas Buffy dealt with it in a literal sense in only a single episode (not a critism, I adore both shows). The episode Tabula Rasa in Lost had a very defined "clean slate" theme, but it has sort of paralleled into the subsequent eps since then. Each ep focuses on a different character and you find out that each has left behind something of themselves and is starting new, with a clean slate. Kate is no longer a wanted criminal, Jack is no longer in his father’s shadow, John Locke is no longer paralyzed, Charlie has kicked his drug habit, Boone is no longer in love with Shannon. They could have mentioned the Buffy episode of the same name, but since the article is primarly about Lost and its philosophy roots, and only breifly mentions Buffy, it probably was unnecessary. I do think it would be interesting to read a comparison of the two shows.Sunday 30 January 2005, by Matt : Well the article WAS about Lost, not Buffy...These comments are an anwser to this article : Unlocking the Philosophy of ’Lost’ (buffy mention)
