I thought "Buffy The Vampire Slayer" was probably one of the best shows on television for the longest time, but isn’t it strange that now that it’s gone it seems we’re getting more collectibles than were available when it was still on the air?

Case in point, this new series of blocky toys from Palisades. They’re introducing a line that’s similar to Mezco’s Mez-Itz (though I think those look better, personally) called PALz, and the line debuts with these figures from "Buffy".

Above we have Buffy, Willow, Xander, Giles, Darla, and of course The Master. All the characters are as they appeared in Season One, albeit in block form, and each one comes with added accessories so you can change them, as in Xander’s case who can be changed into Vamp-hunting Xander with a few extra pieces. Very exciting, no?

The figures will soon be available in the USA for $7.99 each.

If the figure series succeeds, there will be a second wave with fan favourites like Spike and Angel ;-)

From Figures.com :

Characters from "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" take center stage!

As previously reported, Palisades Toys had announced plans for a new mini block-style figure line. (Read our story HERE.) The series, entitled PALz, will kick off with figures based on the TV Show "Buffy the Vampire Slayer."

Designed from their appearance in the first season of "Buffy," the first Series of Buffy PALz will feature a wealth of accessories, including a tombstone so that you can build the Sunnydale Cemetery as you collect the whole series.

Plus, each figure includes all the additional parts to enable you to "transform" your block figure into a nifty new version of the character as well as a head that has two facial expressions. For example, display the normal face, or turn the head under the hair for a quick “vampire” transformation! As a special bonus, each figure pack contains a collectible card created especially for this block figure set by the fine folks at Inkworks! You can ONLY get these character cards in these figure sets.

Series 1 includes:

*Buffy - The chosen one herself, as she appeared in Season 1. Create either Vamp-Fighting Buffy OR build Classic Buffy! Her accessories include a black leather jacket, pool cue, stake and a tombstone.

*Giles - Buffy’s trusted Watcher, as he appeared in Season 1 of the show. Create either Watcher Giles OR build Slayer-Training Giles! Other accessories include 2 quarterstaffs, the Vampyr book, and a tombstone.

*Willow - The loveable, brainy member of the Slayerettes, as she appeared in Season 1. Create either Classic Willow OR build Opera Nightmare Willow! Other accessories include a backpack, a desktop PC, and a tombstone.

*Xander - Buffy’s goofball pal, as he appeared in Season 1. Create either Classic Xander OR build Vamp-Hunting Xander! His accessories include a backpack, his skateboard, a cross, a flashlight, 2 books, a stake, and a tombstone.

*Darla - The first vampire to appear in the series, who also happens to have sired the dark and mysterious vampire known as Angel. Create either Human-Faced Darla OR build Vampire Darla! Other accessories include a cardigan sweater, handguns, and a tombstone.

*The Master - The “Big Bad” from Season 1! Create either The Master in his ‘Classic’ Undead State OR build The Dead Master (Skeleton Version) after Buffy impaled him. His accessories include a tombstone and more!

All figures and accessories are subject to change. SRP for Buffy the Vampire Slayer PALz is $7.99 each. Look for them in the fall of 2004.
