Sweeney (``Eight Men Out’’) plays a hockey player who reluctantly pairs with an ice diva (Moira Kelly of ``Chaplin’’), proving that Zamboni is indeed the Italian word for love. 2. ``Ice Castles’’ (1978) Hankie alert! A skater (Lynn-Holly Johnson) loses her eyesight, a dreamy farm boy (Robbie Benson) helps her become a world-class competitor, and Melissa Manchester sings the Marvin Hamlisch title theme. 3. ``One in a Million’’ (1936) The first American film starring Norwegian figure skater Sonja Henie was also the first in a series of tremendously successful movies for the three-time Olympic gold medalist. Also starring Adolphe Menjou, Don Ameche and the Ritz Brothers. 4. ``Snow White and the Three Stooges’’ (1961) Carol Heiss won the gold medal in 1960 at Squaw Valley, but she was no match for Henie when it came to movie skating star power. 5. ``Ice Princess’’ (2005) Joan Cusack, Kim Cattrall and Michelle Trachtenberg (Dawn from ``Buffy the Vampire Slayer’’) teamed up for this movie about a prodigy torn between earning a science degree at Harvard University and competitive figure skating.
