Worldscreen.com SCI FI U.K. Announces New Acquisitions (angel mention)Tuesday 21 March 2006, by Webmaster LONDON, March 20: SCI FI Channel in the U.K. has picked up a slate of American programming, including all five seasons of the Buffy the Vampire Slayer spin off Angel as well as four Stephen King mini-series. Angel, starring David Boreanz as a remorseful vampire-turned-vampire-killer, will air in the spring, alongside the BBC drama serial Strange. The channel has also re-licensed Firefly, also from Buffy creator Joss Whedon. Four Stephen King mini-series will air on the channel: Salem’s Lot (Warner Bros), The Langoliers (CBS Paramount), Rose Red and Storm of The Century (both Buena Vista). New acquisitions also include three digitally remastered Star Trek series, plus the documentary special Trekkies. There will also be six movie offerings: Star Trek II - VII. For the MOVIE AT 10 slot, SCI FI picked up Hemoglobin, Demon House, Witchboard 3 (all from Fries Films) and Friday the 13th Parts II - VIII (CBS Paramount). |
