Startribune.com Vera Wang offers somber, gauzy palette (sarah michelle gellar & michelle trachtenberg mention)Sara Glassman Sunday 17 September 2006, by Webmaster Vera Wang’s Thursday runway show started with a note on each seat reading, "Dedicated to the memory of C.C. Wang." The designer’s father had died earlier in the day, and the collection’s feel matched the mood. The clothes were stunning, with layers of chiffon and organza floating down the runway in a somber palette of black, grays and golds. Emmy Rossum was in the front row with Sarah Michelle Gellar, Kanye West and Thalia. Badgley Miscka is best known for red carpet gowns. So it was interesting that the front row at her show Thursday was limited to Kathy Griffin, Michelle Trachtenberg and JC Chasez. That aside, the dresses didn’t disappoint, with silver- and black-beaded full-length styles. Continuing the gorgeous gown theme, Temperley London showed a collection of dresses easily jazzed up for a cocktail party but also comfortable. The patterned knits were standouts. Shows so far: 34 |
